Brandt Stuart, M.A., M.S.

Licensed Psychologist Associate

My practice focuses on working with male clients across the life-span (boys to young men to elders) and their families. I am particularly skilled with issues that arise around transitional and challenging periods of life, such as adjusting and coping with school, college and career, preparation for and adjusting to retirement, divorce, etc. I am skilled in helping individuals manage depression, anxiety and other mood disorders. Additionally, I am highly experienced in assisting clients manage substance and technology addictions. Working with boys and men who have anger management challenges is another area of my expertise.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques with particular emphasis on mindfulness-based approaches. My overriding goal is to identify and enhance strengths as a means to overcome challenging and maladaptive thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I am also trained in somatic/body-centered psychotherapies, which deepen the CBT work. I have a daily practice of meditation and yoga that has spanned over thirty years. Aside from the technical aspects of my psychotherapy practice, my calm, direct, and friendly presence allows clients to feel comfortable and safe. I consider it an honor whenever a client embarks upon this work with me.

I graduated from the University of Oregon with Masters degrees in Counseling Psychology and Therapeutic Recreation in 1984. I am both a Licensed Psychologist Associate and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon.
